Bent strut and control amrs...HELP! update whole suspension and lower it??

I have a '05 CLK500 with some alignment issues. Took it to mercedes, after taking it to a local shop, and MB says the front left strut and left rear lower control arm needs replacing, which is over $1500 to do.

I have been wanting to get 18"s for it and lower is a little so now my question is do I go ahead and update the suspension and lower the car? If so what would be yalls suggestions? Looks like ill need new front struts and rear control arms, then springs to lower it (id like to not do coil overs unless yall think it would be stupid to not do coilovers) and what else should I do with the suspension?

NO LONGER ACTIVE
If you have a bad control arm, you do need to replace that. As for lowering, if you want to do that, and you have a bad strut, now would be the time to do it.

i agree with rudeney

replace the control arm.

and if you dont want to go with the coil over route, get some springs and shocks... you need the shocks anyways. either do them together or separately, your choice
