Headrest question regarding W-209

I have a question regarding the headrest height for W-209 drivers seat. I have been away for 2 weeks and when I came back yesterday and got in my car, the headrest will not go down all the way when I push the button on the door panel. The passenger seat headrest goes down all the way. I do not recall if this is normal or not. If someone would be kind enough to check out their own car to see if the driver's side headrest goes down as low as the passenger's seat headrest and let me know. By the way the headrest does goes down all the way when you pull the seat back forward to let someone in the back. Thank you for any help.

Mine do

I've a W209 55 and both the front headrests will lower until they touch the seat top.

The headrests do go all the way down. I had something similar to this happen to me, but on the steering wheel column. For me, the wheel would adjust manually, but when I got out the wheel would not move up. They did replace the motor and now it works fine. Your problem could be a faulty headrest motor, which would need to be replaced. Someone correct if I am wrong, but I think you can "reboot" your seats. Something like move the seat back and hold it for 10 seconds, and move it to the front and hold for 10 secs. Hope this helps, if not take it in.

The other day, I moved the passenger seat forward to let someone into the back seat. Not sure why, but the passenger seat headrest decided it wanted to extend to the highest position. I couldn't move the seat back because the headrest wouldn't clear the roof.

I had to drive my CLK to the dealer. They had to take apart the seat and disable the headrest motor to move the seat back.

My headrest can go all the way down, but it sometimes likes to go all the way up when I turn on the car.
