2005 320CLK Cab
found this screw & nut in the trunk

my 320CLK's top paused three times with beeps while putting it up with the key. It worked fine with the switch.

But I'd thought I'd check the reservoir in the trunk. It's fine.

But I did find in the trunk below the top a screw with a plastic star wheel at the top. Also, a nut with an attached washer. The nut doesn't fit the star bolt. They must have fallen off the roof while it/was retracted.

Any ideas where on the top these came from?

Can you post photos of the parts? As for the three beeps when using the remote, it means that the infrared signal was interrupted. This is a symptom of the infrared receiver in the door handle failing, which is a common problem. If you like using the remote open.close function, you should look into a SmartTop Controller. Jerry at formymercedes also sells them.

I don't recognize these. Maybe they came from something you had carried in the trunk.
