CLK550 Factory Audio Systems (No Brand)
Question (yes a lot lately) for you all. I've been reading that the CLK550 has a Harmon Kardon sound system... But my car has no logos or badges on any speaker. Are these factory systems built by HK or did they make plain factory MB audio systems as well? Thank you for the info.

you might have the HK with no navi option. go to your trunk and pull back the lining on the passenger side to expose the amp and check =]

I am fairly certain that "surround" setting indicates that you have the HK Logic7 option. Do you have a sunroof? I believe the only way to get a sunroof in the coupe was to order the Premium 1 package, which included the HK upgrade with CD changer. It is an odd thing because my dealer's documentation indicates HK was standard on all W209's (at least for MY2005, which is the latest version I have), but the customer brochure indicates it as an option, which was individually available or as part of the P1 package. The brochure shows that a sunroof was only available as part of P1.
Knowing how MBZ ordering works, it is a common practice for them to intend to make certain options "standard" by making them part of required packages, and only a "special order" can delete the package. I guess there are some W209's out there without sunroofs, but I suspect they are very rare, and therefore, it would also be very rare for a W209 to not have the HK system. Also, I just checked the part number for the cabriolet seat-mounted subwoofer and only one is listed - there seems to be no option for a non-HK sub for the cabriolet.

I do have the sunroof... And the audio sounds amazing I was just curious as I saw no logos anywhere. Already compares preferably to the Bose in my last vehicle... Not that it says much. I will check for the amp.
