Carsoft for my 2004 clk500
hi, I need to reset my srs light cause it somehow came on after I replaced the stepper control arm. I did some research and it looks like the Carsoft 7.4 might work but just not sure when is the latest year clk it will work. On the door jam it says the car was made on 09/03 but my car is a 2004.

I am looking to get one off ebay or dhgate or dealextreme.
I much prefer buying this than paying the dealer. Can anyone confirm it will work on my car.

i think it will but you could also look into piecing together a mbstar system yourself. I think some members on the w203 forum have done in successfully.

Carsoft will work for this. It should work on any OBDII-equipped MBZ through MY2004. The MY2005 "facelift' across the fleet changed the way many of the components talk to each other so Carsoft 7.x won;t do it (I think they ave a new version that will).
As Bheng pointed out, you can also get Stat Diagnosis (SDS), which is the system the dealers use. Of course you can;t get an "official" version - that's only available to authorized dealers - but you can get a "Chinese Clone" version on eBay for $500-$700. Look for "mercedes diagnostic C3" (or C4). That's what I have and it works quite well. You would want to get the version that uses a virtualized environment with VMware so there's no worries about specific hardware or complex installation.
