Steering Wheel Leather Question

Hey everyone,
I have a question on my steering wheel leather. I have a facelift CLK500 '05. Recently, I've felt that the leather on the steering wheel is starting to feel rough (it doesn't feel smooth when I let go of the wheel to turn). The same is for the shift knob. There are some rough spots on the shift knob and the wheel. Is there a way to fix this or do I have to get a whole new steering wheel? I want to try and make this steering wheel last for a really long time. I'll post pics soon. Thanks

All you can really do to leather on the shifter & wheel is give it a good clean with a well squeezed wet terry towel & detergent to get all the grime & skin oils off of it. Then dry & feed it with Maquiar's rich leather cleaner conditioner CREAM or similar. Don't be shy ~ leather is tough stuff. If the surface is not abraded you can get it back to looking virtually new. If it's abraded then you are heading for a recover.

Gliptone makes water based products to re colour the leather if the surface is damaged. All Benz colours are available.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will look into that. It just bothers my OCD when the steering wheel is not smooth.
