Car still won't start!!! Help!!
About a month ago I was driving along and then went to my brothers birthday party. About 5 hours later I get back in the car to leave. I drive 4 miles to my shop, and get out for 5 minutes to get my laptop. I get back in the car and when I try to start the car, I cannot get it started. I had to get it towed home.
Everyone said its the crankshaft position sensor & I replaced mine dead on, my trusted mechanic gave it to me. What could be wrong? I desperately want this car working again!
I have no errors or check engine lights on the dash. I put the key into ignition, click one, click two, click to ignite engine and it cranks and all dash lights turn off but does not actually turn on... then all the dash lights come back on again.
It was the the crankshaft position sensor. I had it replaced and have had no problems at all.
Now you say that you replaced your dead on, and that your trusted mechanic gave it to you. I have some guesses:
The crankshaft position sensor could be bad, or
the crankshaft position sensor could be installed wrong, or
it might be something else like a battery/wiring issue since your dash lights are flashing off an on.
Good Luck!
What're the more probable means? I don't have the $ to get it towed 14 miles to my Indy.
no offence, but if you can afford to get the car towed, maybe you shouldnt own a mercedes?

I really hope it's not the computer >.>
& to member phingoc: 1) tow companies don't charge more to tow a Mercedes than any other car needing a flatbed. 2) you're ignorant & I can afford both of my Mercedes just fine... even at 19 years old... 3) I have a lot more things to budget for than a tow seeing as how I have bone cancer.

Check fuel pressure at the front rail Schrader valve. s/b > 3.8 bar or 55 psi while cranking.
i only laugh cuz i had to get it towed 100 miles to the dealership for the fuel pump replacement.
