Wheel Options

Hello MBWORLD,
I'm looking to change my factory 17" AMG Appearance package rims on my 2005 CLK500. I don't wanna change the rim size, just the design. I'm looking for a gunmetal design. Do any of you think that the 17" AMG gunmetal replicas would look too small on the car? Here is what rim design I'm thinking of: http://www.ebay.com/itm/18-Gunmetal-...-/290969505251

Or, should I powder coat my stock rims? Does anybody have a picture of stock black rims on the car? Thanks

17 are small in general for our car. my clk350 has stock 17 my clk550 has 18s stock
i had 19s on both cars before.
i really feel no difference between the 17 and 18, and a slight difference when i installed the 19s

it depends on the tire quality as well. i say 17 look WAY too small on the car.

So how can I convince my father for me to get 18" wheels? He says they're not good for the car. I even don't like 17 inch wheels, they do look too small for the car.

I changed my 2003 AMG spokes to later AMGs, and stayed with 17's. They look fine to me. I stuck with the stock offsets, too.

IMHO I think the 17s look "small" on the clk also. I was not buying mine unless I could get a good price from the dealer on 18" wheels; they did not know at the time that the my08 was being configured stock with the 18" AMG wheels (this may have been only with the AMG package - which I was including).

I now run Mandrus 18". Have had the AMG 18s refinished but still don't like them enough over the Mandrus. Will sell the AMGs cheap if I don't have to ship.
