valet key fail

I killed the battery on my 2009 CLK 550 Cab by leaving the lights on. When I tried to open the door with my keyless go smartkey, nothing. While waiting for service I tried the valet key and I was able to open the trunk but not the cabin door.

Are these locks keyed differently or is there some other secret MB thing going on?

From the factory, they are keyed the same. Are you the original owner? If not, then maybe there was a repair made and someone replaced the lock.

I bought the car CPO so I am second owner. I did have an issue with the keyless go receiver/transmitter in the driver side door and MB repaired/replaced it. Maybe they did something, or not.

I guess I'll take it back to MB service and see if they can figure it out.

I will also try not to leave the lights on when I park the car.

Thanks for the help.

Repairing the KeylessGo sensor shouldn't have had anything to do with the hard key lock in the door handle. Maybe it's just seized from oxidation.
