DOes it show the proper gear selection on the cluster MFD? If so, then the AGS is working correctly and it's likely just a loos connection in the LED unit on the shift surround. Mine had a weak solder join where the wiring harness connects to ti. I took it apart and resoldered it.

Actually, the indicator LEDs are't even part of the shifter. They are part of a small unit that just snaps into the chrome trim surrounding the shifter. It's easy to remove - just pry up gently from underneath with a plastic wedge. Below are my photos of the part that I took to help someone with a sticky C/S button:

I took the shifter assembly out. The LED part you show in the pic above has two wire harnesses. One harness is for the C (comfort) S (sport mode and other harness is for LED. The LED harness is the one connected to the shifter mechanism . I tried two different indicators and none worked. So i think it might be grounding or shifter electronics.

I need real help with a new issue. My parking brakes were not working so I took the rear wheels and brake rotors out and found out that the previous owner has completely removed the brake shoes assembly except for the cables. I purchased the brake shoes and hardware but still missing some parts that I'm buying from mbpartsworld.com. Do you have pictures for the emergency brakes so I can put back together

Wipers problem
Just bought a 2004 CLK320 Convertible 2 months back. Car was perfect until the wiper stopped working suddenly. Initially, the wiper wipes once at position 1 when I activate the right turn indicator. Now it stopped totally. No wiping action regardless of position 1 to 3. Mist and washer fluid pump don't work too. However, turn indicator and high beam works though. I've changed the 40 amps fuse but to no effect. Should I try changing the relays? I hope I don't need to change the combination switch though. Appreciate your advise please. Thanks!

I guess you fixed your problem by now. I've had the same . Problem was the interlock switch on the bonnet (hood) catch. I filled my washer bottle closed very thing up and hey presto no washers or wipers. Searched the internet and found a blog describing my problem. The guy went to a Merc dealership who just opened the bonnet and slamed it shut. Did the same to mine and the washers and wipers started working again. I think its an unwanted feature. Surly the bonnet open lamp should be on the same switch so at least the user has a clue whats wrong.

great and timely post. .I had been working the no wipers or washers problem all day. I cleaned the switch with wd40 and batter cleaner, slammed the hood shut and every thing worked. thanks!
