CLK 270 CDI air problems (temperature problems)

Hello,

I have a clk 270cdi with a "problem" in the temperature control..

My air unit is like this one: http://olx-t.imgrap.com/ui/25/26/25/...361&country=PT

The problem is: if i put on 26ºC it blows hot air, but if i put it to 25ºC, 22ºC or 18ºC for example, it only blows cold air.. it happens always, this control just worked fine about 10 times of 1000 that i have used it..

i cant have a good temperature in my car like 22ºC because i will get super cold .. it happens with AC off or ON and manual ON or auto on..

please help me, thanks

It could be caused by low refrigerant or a problem with he dampers in the ducts. Try the ACC test/reset procedure: With the engine running, simultaneously press and hold the RECIRC and FRONT DEFOG button until their indicator lights begin to flash. After you release the buttons, the lights should continue to flash for 20-30 seconds and then stop. If they do not stop flashing, then you have a failure in the ACC system (probably a broken damper or servo) and you'll need proper diagnostics to see what it is. If the lights do stop, then I'd have the refrigerant checked. Sometimes when it is low, it will do odd things with cooling, like only cool one side, or have a lack of thermostat control.

Hello

Thank you very much for your help.. i made that test and the lights didnt stop flashing.. they only stop when i turned off the car xD

after that i was in mercedes to they check the problem and they told me that is a cheap part that locates behind the radio and need to be changed.. they told me that they have to remove the dashboard to change that part and it will have a high cost..

so.. the part is cheap but the unmounting/mounting service will be very high..

so i m asking if you know what part is that behind the dashboard radio that i need to change and if it easy to change... beacause i have changed one time my radio and i removed my dashboard to do that and it was easy.. so maybe i can change it by myself at my home..

sorry for bad english..hope you understand.. thanks

If you have the code(s) they pulled from the diagnosis, I can confirm, but yes, this sounds like you have a failed damper control. Some of these are easy to get to, but two of them require removing most of the dash and even parts of the AC system and are very labor intensive = expensive.
