CLS550
Good luck to you. Stock vs. stock, you've got no chance. You're dealing with a different animal even though both are V8s. You're talking about adding superchargers and expensive stuff like that to beat a 550 or 55. Even then.

Yeah you'd have to spend an arm and a leg to beat a 550. At that point you might as well trade in your car for a 550.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Trade your CLK500 for a CLK63, then you'll beat the CLK550.

They are a dozen or so 63's for sale on auto trader some nice ones, Black and Silver ones I rarely see other colors.. They go between 35k up to 50k. Always keeping my eye open for one.

same here. would've loved a 63 since the prices are not bad at all but don't want the cabriolet, want a coupe the black series is just too much lol the 550 is still a beast though. Been thinking of an OE tune since the holidays r approaching and they do run their specials

CLS550
I recommend the CLS63. It's a great coupe, but it's four doors. There's also the CL63 for very big bucks.

I was originally looking at CLS550's before buying the CLK. Price was great. Loved loved loved the interior, four doors, and seating. The exterior just didn't do it for me in many ways so opted out of it. Lol the CL is way more up there but love that car

as much as i love the cl and cls the clk was the perfect fit for me.for the price i paid with extended warranty and taxes i could have found a nice cls but i still opted for the clk.
1) I LOVE MY CLK
2) i could drive it into the city, its not too small not too large
3) the pillar less design makes the girls panties go.. =]
4) this car is a raw car with not that much computer integration, exactly what i wanted.
5) one of my fav thing about this car is that i stomp on g37 and these other ricers all stock.
oh and i only have 25k miles so its a baby.

regarding mods. i think Kleemann offers a K3 package that includes, headers, cats, ecu tune and sports cams. they claim it makes 460hp and 466 tq. i wonder how much all of that would cost, i would consider it after next year, then again i wished that MB introduced the CLK63 coupe in the States as well.

These two were big for me. the pillarless design is huge. what other coupe out there besides the CL comes with this? (even the E coupe has a little piece of fixed glass in the back). People go crazy for that.

I love the fact the car has way less electronics compared to other benzes (minus the w203 C) no airmatic/abc suspension, no sbc brakes, no pano roof, etc.
