Oil Level

I came across a thread in w204 forum about overfilled engine oil.

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ll-fluids.html

Summary of the thread is for a car engine, it is okay if engine oil is overfilled by a bit. One poster even said that it would be a problem only if it is overfilled by 4 liters. Any truth in this? 4L is 50% more!

I remember in my last oil change, my indie overfilled by maybe 0.2-0.3 liter. In dyno mode and when I started my engine, the oil level was 8.1L. Although there was no malfunction alert, I rushed back to remove it.

Does anyone know at what point would a malfunction alert be triggered?
