Sport suspension?

I'm shopping for Cab and some have a sport appearance package that includes a sport suspension. Is this just stiffer progressive shocks and struts? Is it expensive to install different ones if you want a different ride, ie softer or sportier?

NO LONGER ACTIVE
The sport suspension has larger anti-sway bars, sport-tuned shocks and struts, and a lowered stance. It's actually a fairly desirable option and isn't too harsh (i.e. not like a BMW sport suspension). If it is too firm, then you would want to replace the shocks and struts with softer ones. I would think that you'd be paying at least $1000 for any work like that.

Thanks Rodney. That does sound like improved handling. I'm going to try and test ride both flavors today for comparison.

It's honestly not that bad. Drives great and handles really well. Not harsh either (and mine is a 550 with the 18" AMG wheels, the 350's with sport appearance or with AMG sport come with 17s). I do 200 mile round trip drives down to irvine in one night and does not bother me much (even with my bad lower back). It would be perfect if the drivers seat had an electronic lumbar support (very hard to find option).

Thanks Gaaz. Based on all the good reviews on this fourum of the sport package I decided to buy an E350 cab with the sport. You are exactly right, it's not that bad and it rides and handles extremely well. The new ones come with 18" AMG wheels, staggered, and the sport seats have dual electric lumbars. It's a great set up and really fun. Here in MD there's too much salt on the roads from all the snow we've had or I'd be out driving it now. Well, maybe after the Super Bowl. Thanks, Fletch
