2006 clk 350 Sports or Standard Suspension?
Fellas,
How do you know which suspension system you have?
I have a 2006 clk350 cabriolet. Is this equipped with a sports suspension (standard model)?
I have had a real rough ride for a while now and and I just noticed my sway bar links bushings were shot.
While looking for new links online I noticed that there are 2 types, 1 for sports suspension. I think my Indy put regular links on my car.
1. Is it possible to put the wrong links on a clk?
2. Could this be a cause of my horrible ride?
3. Does my car actually have sport suspension?
Thanks in advance

OK, first of all, the next time you are driving your car and it feels like maybe someone has take control of it, well, that's not me! :P
Seriously, VINs are safe to post. No one will find outu who you are or where you live or steal your car. In fact, my copy of EPC already has the entire VIN database through October 2010, so it's no secret.
Here's your datacard:

You have option #961, the sport suspension.
The correct part number for your anti-sway bar end links is A2033202889. I checked several version of the W203 and W209, and other than the AMG models, they all use the same part number. I believe the AMG's have a larger diameter hole int he anti-swa bar and thus a larger bolt for the end link to attach.

I did research before I bought the links also but my main focus was towards buying links that stated (for vehicles with sports suspension)
Well my Indy says there is only one strut assembly for my vehicle and that he would have to drill out the hole to fit the larger links...
First of all is it true that I can't find a strut with the right size hole for the sports suspension links?
Second should I just purchase the smaller bolt links? Which seem the same outside of that?
Thirdly could this be why I can never get a smooth ride... Regardless of tire selection and pressure?? Because I may have the wrong struts or links??

I really doubt that the end links on the anti-sway bar would affect ride quality very much. Usually, symptoms of problems with them are just noises as the ball joints on them fail.

There are different sized end links for different size anti-sway bars. It's odd, though, because the AMG models use a larger diameter, the non-AMG use a smaller. That part is the smaller diameter bolt. Is there a part number stamped on the the links? It makes me wonder if you were shipped the wrong part.

That's quite strange, for vin WDBTK56G16T056236 it doesn't say that it has sport suspension, only sport package which I think only appearance packages, and sway bar links Rodney mentioned is correct (2033202889, for sport suspension links are 2033202989), so technically what you need is to by non-sport suspension links, which are more cheaper (about 2 times cheaper), about $19 each from FCP.

Correct: WDBTK56G16T056236 has code 951 which is just an appearance package, so no suspension upgrades.
