Lightbulb RE-CODING ESP MODULE?

I have an ESP/Abs issue that has spun lights and warnings haywire. Dealer diagnosis is that it is the ESP module; however, I have tried changing this with the one from my other CLK and it seemed to have just made things worse, so I reverted back to the original. Dealer says these are vin specific parts and you cant swap them out. Now question is, how do you Re-Code an ESP Module with a new vin number? This would allow me to use the perfectly good one I have in the car I am using and save me 1400!!

NO LONGER ACTIVE
I mentioned this over on benzworld, but I see no VIN-marrying coding in SDS for this. However, there are several different part numbers that are VIN-dependent, presumably based on facelift or pre-facelift, and maybe even based on equipment configuration. If you can find a used part the same as your original one, you should be able ot have it adapted to your car. It still may take coding with SDS, but it's not like the EIS or instrument cluster where it has the be a "virgin" part that gets "married" to the vehicle.
