How can I keep the indoor mats clean?
Hi,
I have just got a new CLK and have realised that because the inside is a light colour, the mats etc on the floor get dirty with people shoes etc.
What would be the best way to avoid this?
Thanks
Akhil

1) Replaced with all weather mats.
2) Buy new mats whenever you cannot stand the dirt
3) Clean it with carpet shampoo everytime you wash your car
4) Get a set of charcoal mats
5) Dont use mats at all

2000 SLK, 2003 CLK
I have stone interior and I bought a set (front & back) of clear plastic mats from Mercedes that I put over the carpet mats. They keep the carpet mats clean and they are very easy to just wipe clean.

Hey mate,
I will post some pics later today, because the weather here aint too nice (in UK) and I want to take some with the hood down.
I have some photos here (the day i got it) but they were taken on my cell phone and are quite bad quality.
They can be viewed here www.mrpimp.co.uk then goto CLK
I will also upload more there within 24 hours.
Also if anyone wants me to put a photo of their CLK on it, lemme know, just email the the photo to webmaster@mrpimp.co.uk
Thanks

I don't know if this will help, but at leas that is what I did for all of the floor on my ML. Some people say that the vinyl material will smell bad but I've had this from Dec2002 and I do not smell something bad. and hope won't smell anything bad ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Mercedes for 2004 will have all weather floor mats in three different colors. I have the all weather floor mats that are black but I will be getting the 2004 all weather floor mats when they come available they look like they will cover more of the carpet and I will get the grey you can find them on the mercedes web site when you build a car under accesories. Check them out. I called the dealer and was not able to order untill 2004. If anyone has these let me know.

If you want to go OEM all-weather mats, then u can go to dealer...not sure how much they charge ($100 for a set of 4?). They do a pretty good job at keeping the carpets underneath pretty clean.
I just went to autozone and picked up some all weather mats (deeper grooves than MB OEM's for holding more crud from shoes) it's worked well so far and for $20, can't go wrong.

I have the ash (gray) interior...
and not only do the light mats show so much more dirt but I thought it made the interior look monotonous so I bought a set of the regular charcoal (black) carpets and it highlights the color scheme much nicer.
