Angry HIT and RUN

My car was parked in a law firm parking lot for less than 5 minutes to pick up something. Someone hit and cracked my rear bumper about 8 inches long on the right side. I did a few estimates and the cheapest one is few dollars short of a couple grand to fix it.

Second estimate, the guy quoted me $900ish with a bumper cover of $198. Fortunately, I show him my previous estimate or else I be giving him the job and I end up with a wrong bumper.

CLK320 rear bumper cover cost $198.
CLK500 rear bumper cover cost $1430!

Does an AMG bumper worth $1200 dollars more?

Maybe its time to get a set of Brabus bumpers!!

There is NO WAY that a CLK320 bumper costs $198. There is something wrong with your second estimate.

But $1430 for an AMG rear bumper is a bit too much (if it doesnt include painting).

What is the difference between a 320 and a 500 bumper? I thought that they were identical though.

320 is just a regular stock MB bumper. 500 uses the AMG CLK55 bodykit.

Oh, $1430 exclude painting is VERY expensive. But since your insurance company is paying for it. Then it doesnt really matter. Brabus bodykits wont be available until mid-Jan anyway. The front is $13xx and the rear is $10xx.

No, I didn't go through insurance this time because my girlfriend ex-C320 had a hit and run also in 2002.

Brabus bodykits aren't expensive at all. At least it's cheaper than AMG. Does the price include paint?

Brabus made the first generation 209 bodykits using fiberglass and they are not happy with the overall quality. So they discontinued the fiberglass production and changed it to Pur-r-rim. The first set will be here in mid-Dec (sold by me already), the second & third set will be here in mid-Jan (also sold by me).
