clk320 mods

I have a 2004 CLK320 with 126,000 miles. I don't know what to do... I would want more power and coilovers. In other words I would wanna customize the car, but I don't know if it's worth it; parts are expensive. I know the clk350 has 50 more hp. What if I bought that and put the kompressor from the 230 on it? Or should I wait and get the clk55 amg and put the kompressor from the s55 on there? Is that even possible? As you can see I have a lot of questions... sorry I'm new on here and I want to learn.

CLK 320
I have the same car which I have owned for 8 months.

Since I live in Canada, the power is more than enough. To be honest I am pleasantly surprised how quick it moves. I am sure the other models are faster and nice, but the 320 is no slouch.

Your car has a lot of miles on it, I would make sure it is in good working order. I have noticed a few nagging things go on mine which are common apparently (cd changer not working, driver side rear window regulator, rear shade won't go down.)

Once I get these sorted out then I am getting some AMG replica wheels and I am on my way.

Just my two cents...I am a newbie on here as well

I'm curious what this means.

It means our new laws for speeding are harsh.

They can take your car away if they choose and you will be hit with a $5000 fine.

Having more power and being "fast" isn't always about exceeding the posted limits. Passing with authority and getting from 0mph to "travel speeds" can be just as important as doing triple digits.

Well put, where I live knowing I can get to freeway speeds from a dead stop PDQ is comforting. We've all met that jerk who insists on doing five miles under the speed limit and take it as a personal insult if you pass them. Being able to zip right past them when they try to cut you off is always satisfying. My lil CLK 320 seems to have enough umph for either of those scenarios. It will never be an 500 hp SLK or AMG still a little more kick can't hurts. I've wondered if a turbo would be a practical add on.

I'm not aware of any turbo options for the M112 engine in your CLK320. I know Kleeman made a supercharger, but it's a very expensive option. For the price, you could trade your CLK320 for a CLK550.

Agreed my guess is that as you implied it is far more cost effective to just buy the performance level Mercedes you want. It is not like here isn't a wide array of options available. For me my lil CLK 320 is just fine as is. For now.

coilovers are well worth the investment...
sounds like clk55 power won't be enough for u... best choice is to get a different car that has "more power" u want... if u r die hard w209 fanatic, then swap with M113K...
