Fan/Rattling Noise

Fan/Rattling Noise
Had my car for 3.5mths now, about 4,000kms (2,500 miles).
On the weekend I noticed a rattling noise coming from behind the a/c vents. The sound is akin to something like a fan and only occurs when I step on the accelerator. When still, its perfectly quite.
I usually have the music turned quite loud so this problem may have come up earlier. On listening again, it seems the sound is coming from directly behind the navigation system or lower.
I tried turning on/off the air con, switching driving modes, turning on/off nav system to try to locate problem. None of which worked.
I remember reading something about Mercs having loud cooling fans (2ndry radiator)? Sydney has not been that hot over last week so I can't really fathom that this would be case of overheating?
Have put in the service call.
Appreciate if anyone has advice on this!

I had the loud engine cooling fan problem and had it replaced under warranty. However, it didn't sound like it was coming from behind the Nav at all. It sounded like a small jet airplane was about to emerge from the hood. It was immediately recognizable as the secondary cooling fan and it only happened when it was pretty hot outside.
I think the Nav has its own little cooling fan. I've heard it run just after I turn the car off - it'll run for several seconds. I've never heard it change in loudness by pressing the accelerator though. That's a strange one.
