M271 engine chain modification
Hi is there any one who know if the up grated m271.820 year 2009 to 2012 engine chain will fit the m271.940.year 2005 . I understand the chain from this model is a new design and stronger than the old chain.

Thank you gents for your reply. I might go for a c200gci engine transplant when my car engine die.The mercedes benz agency in Cairns had never come back to me when i had ask them for engine chain installation, our local indie had quote me $ 3000 . I can get a second hand motor from Sydney for $3000.
Might do the chain myself ?

So you haven't had a failure, you just want to replace the chain as a proactive measure? It can be done DIY. Here's the WIS docs:
