Brake Upgrade Help from w204 to w209

Hi Everyone,

I need your help! I have a 2004 Mercedes CLK500 and I bought a set of brakes from a 2009 Mercedes AMG C63 and when we checked the fitment the front brackets were off as well as the rears. My question first would be does anyone know someone that can machine the new brackets for the front and the rears the brackets do not come off the calipers, any suggestions?

Thank you!

I cannot swear it was between your car and those brakes, but I know I have seen an adapter machined for just such a problem on the forum within the last year. Do some searches. Did you buy the brakes assuming they would fit?

Can you tell us why you are upgrading to W209 brakes and is this a popular upgrade?

Yes, I thought it would work with minor adjustment or making a adapter of some sort.

First find a used front wheel hub from W204 and go to to your workshop. Then change the W209 wheel hub and put the hub from W204. With this change you can use the mono-block front 360X36 rotors which are cheaper than the two pieces. You wil notice that the bolts for the wheel that W204 use are 14mm than 12mm from W209. The only thing that you have to check first is that using the W204 hub the wheel will come 15mm outside. If the offset of your wheel can work with this then go for it. Also the bolts that hold the W209 front bracket are 12mm and the W204 are 14mm. Here you can make the holes on the W209 14mm and the brakes will fit just fine.
On my thread you can see the adapters for the rear calipers. Using them the caliper will come out side 7,5mm and if you use the 330 rotors the brake pad surface will not press on the rotor for these 7,5mm.
The rear fitment was very difficult and it is better to sell the rear set to someone that owns a W204 where are plug and play and buy the W209 OEM. The rear are the same for W203 and R171.
Sorry for the late answer but I am on holidays with the family for all the July and the internet here are not so good. Feel free to ask anything.
