Nice! I don't see Sirius radio listed, so that would be a deal killer for me. Also, did you have COMAND before? If so, does your clock still work?

No, mCar only works on the MOST fiber optic system, which came in with the MY2005 facelift.

I don't think any of these options listed here are any good. The COMAND is pretty much antique by now. The Chinese options look OEM but are pretty much garbage...except for the Dynavin. With a lot of work you could get that to work the way you want it but it still wouldn't be as good as a Pioneer...Kenwood or whatever. Not even close.

You want your head unit to be able to do everything multimedia wise. Who cares how it looks. Plus, a lot of aftermarket options look a million times better than OEM.

I just want a plug and play HU so I won't have to swap my amp etc. Although it won't be the best unit, it'll be cost efficient haha.. I'd rather spend my $ on other goodies like wheels, suspension .. Sound isn't a major concern - I just can't stand not having all the amenities a newer car has...pre facelift w209 problems ! But you're right.. It's probably better if I put in a bit more $$ and go the aftermarket route.

Yeah if cost is an issue then this is definitely the way to go. Installation wise there isn't much of a difference. Plug and play literally refers to like 4 wires which you can have hooked up with an adapter in 5 mins. But yeah we all have different needs from our head units. I want mine to handle pretty much anything and be expandable.

I just never understood the deal with "must look OEM" which is prevalent on these forums. We're modding cars people. Stand out a little

That's just a generic double-DIN head unit with a CLK faceplate kit. If I were going with an aftermarket unit like that, I choose a Pioneer, Kenwood, etc.

Great look, how is the sound quality? does it work with fiber optic? does it synchronize the time in instrument cluster?
