2004 CLK500

HVAC issue

Hi,

I have an 04 CLK500. When I turn the heat on, it blows hot from the defrost, but only blows cold air from the dash, footwell and rear seat vents.

Does anybody know what the issue may be?

It sounds as though you have a distribution flap jammed, Stepper motor failure or broken stepper motor arm.

easy job or sell the car? If easy, where can I buy the stepper motor and arm? Any way to easily diagnose if its just a stuck flap?

If not successful you need to get the car onto a Star. Quite a bit of the dash has to come out to repair. Far easier to leave to a Tech that strips Benz dashboards daily or it can be a very long DIY job depending on where the fault lies. I would not sell the car for this.
