P0400 EGR malfunction

My mechanic (Not dealer) replaced my MAF 4 weeks ago and I started getting this code. They've checked the EGR valve and it's working properly. They've cleared the code several times but the code pops back up after 2-5 days of driving. My engine light also comes on and off intermittently. They replaced the MAF again, but same problem.

Any thoughts? They have a star.

Whitch engine do you have?

Did the mechanic check freeze frame of the dtc to determin to high or to low maf value at the time the code was set?

Thanks! I'll ask my mechanic if he checked this.
