I have a prefacelift clk500, and im wondering the compatability with these units. I searched around and have struggled to comprehend the issues with fiber optics.. Will this unit work in my w209?

I've been looking at these too, but from what I've read, the unit will not connect to the fiber optics feeding the amplifier. But the description on eBay clearly says, "If your car has fiber optics wiring, this item doesn't fit your car."

dynavins are great units but i dont believe dynavin is this manufacturer, ive had two dynavins in my past m3 and they dont let their products be sold on ebay. there are alot of cheap clones coming out of china and i guess this is one of them. Id love to hear from some forum members who have gotten these radios to see how they work.

this looks like it's for the up to 04 models. 05 has the newer nav dvd comand which is physically different

Dynavin offers an OEM look head-unit for the prefacelift w209, i.e., before 2005. It's the latest version of their D99 model, now called N6. Dynavin is very popular with the BMW crowd and you'll find lots of posts on there and demos on YouTube. If you do not have a BOSE amplifier in the back, it's apparently plug and play. If you have a BOSE amplifier, you'll need to run a wire to the trunk and install a new amplifier. Here's the unit:
