ESP Error

I am I am getting a error message about my ESP warning light. I got this message after disconnecting the battery. But the reason it was disconnected was because I was going to try and change my combo switch. When I got to the steering angle sensor I could not manage to get it of and just put everything back together.

What I have tried is: with the engine on turned to full left than full right, turning the engine off but the message came back

NO LONGER ACTIVE
It does sound like the steering angle sensor needs to be recalibrated, which commonly occurs when the steering column control module loses power. With the engine running and stopped at idle, turn the steering wheel fully lock to lock at least three times.
