bought clk320 - issues ?

Hello everyone,

I have recently purchased a 2004 clk320 and it's fantastic, but it came with few small issues that I would love to fix to enjoy the car much more.

- SRS- Service restraint System light is on
- passenger side heating seat switch doesn't work/turn on.
- passenger side seat belt retractor does not retract.
- "passenger airbag off" light is not on when i drive alone.

I have a feeling they are all related but I really want to know your opinions on what should I do.

Thank you very much

NO LONGER ACTIVE
The first two problems have the seat controller in common. Check wires underneath to make sure something has not been disconnected. As for the seatbelt extender, check fuse 33 (assuming your car is left-hand drive and this the passenger seat is on the rights, otherwise fuse #32).

so I didnt find any burnt fuse. However when I checked the wires under the passenger seat, I found 3 of them cut. the brown, blue and thin yellow one ( photo attached ) Does anyone know what are they for and how can I fix that ?

damn.. how could that happen? looks like a clean cut too! well you can
unlug the connector
remove the pins with cut wires that are inside the connector
peal the wire a bit and reattach the pins
plug back into the connector
reattach connector

should be easy, but its going to be a huge pain working under the seat. see if there's a clip holding the wires down maybe you can move them enough to be able to work comfortably.

for your questions:

the yellow wire is most certainly your airbag problem. your going to need that fixed then get it to somebody who has STAR to turn of the SRS light.

the other cut wires are for your heated seats.

I don't think the retracting passenger seatbelt is related.

The airbag off light doesn't turn on if the passenger chair isn't occupied. the only time you will see it on is when the car is turned on (for a couple of seconds) or if you have a baby seat on the passenger seat installed.

The exact same thing happened to me. The wires must be getting snagged on something as passengers get in the back seat? I thought somebody cut them at first because of how clean the cut was

Did you fix the wires by working under the seat or did you take the seat out ? Also, did you have the srs light on ? If so, did It turn off after you reconnected the wires?

Only my seat heater cables were cut so no SRS warning. I pulled the module out, not the seat. It wasn't very easy as far as I remember but not as annoying as pulling the seat out.

The SRS warning should go away if this was the reason.

@ Razvan1 Did you manage to fix the issue? If yes what was the culprit ? Any cost to your fix or all DIY?
