W209 is fun to mod
Most goodies from W203, we shared

Performance wise
Strut brace, anti-roll bars, shock & absorbs (PSS-9 my favor)
AMG V8K full intake kits, BMC(K&N) filters, wider tires
NGK-9 super cold plugs, dual fuel pump, Vmax delimiter
headers, metal cats, 80mm cats back,75mm muffler, quad tips......
hi-end brake kits, light crank pulley (1/3 stock weight),
Al larger intercooler, oil cooler, (Fuel cooler under test)

Appearance wise
Body style, larger(lighter) rims, spoiler, chrome light rings.
the grill is good for W203 to copy.
320 km/h speedo cluster
emblems F&R, sport S/W,sport pedals, metal door lock pins.
HID up to 12000k (incl. fog light) **** poor night visibility ****
W209 get all clear stuff while W203 doesn't.

I don't think W211 is so flexible to mod as W209 in chassis.

yup, forum's kind of dead because the W209 doesn't inspire the kind of gushing enthusiasm its predecessor did.

my GF's father just dumped his CLK for a Beemer.

my GF's about to dump her CLK. the only reason she may get another MB -- likely not a CLK -- is for drive dynamic seats. (she hasn't yet tested them, so we'll see.)

i'll hold my fully-optioned 2002 CLK55 until there's something much more interesting.

the new bentley GT coupe is awesome on paper, although the interior leaves much to be desired. and without door rubs, i wouldn't park it anywhere (not that i'm obsessive or anything ;-).

i definitely do not begrudge anybody a liking of the 209. enjoy!

it's very good when people who have a car -- or anything, for that matter -- enjoy it.

i recall from my first 430, a '99, how people couldn't take their eyes off it and wanted to talk about it. that was very enjoyable.

not so with the 209. (it did little for me, which is why i still have a loaded '02 208 55.)

i don't care for it, and but for two or three of the many i've spoken with about it, all have little good to say about it.

MBers have said the car is going nowhere very quickly.

two people i met and spoke with beside their 209s have said they didn't care for the car and were on the verge of trading them in.

under the skin, the 209 may indeed be far superior to the 208. but buyers first see and approve the skin, then experience what's under it.

once again, i say i definitely do not begrudge anybody a liking of the 209. enjoy!

I like the W209 in darker Colors with some Nice rims and a good drop. The 500 looks good since it has the AMG kit on but could use some 18s and a drop. But for 60 grand its a little steep. Stock it looks very bad IMO. Especially the 320. Thats why I want to see some Modded ones! I was looking in the Picture thread and most of the look Stock.

Well, its like not ppl do not fix up the CLK. It just that the car is kinda new, and it cost a grip to fix up the car. this car is not like a Lexus IS where every one out of three you see are fixed up. Im sure ppl have the w209 modded but maybe with wheels. I will tryp to post some of my pics up when i get my parts in.
