Hello,

does anybody know how to remove the lower grill on a 2008 clk350 w209.

I checked this site and my WIS manual and have not found anything!

I hope i don't have to remove the front bumper

Easier said then done?

The grills around the fog lights do just snap in and out.

The lower grill is different there does not appear to be a place where you can pry it out.

Please advise

From memory; the 550 lower grill has 6-8 plastic hook like clips that hold it in place. They are anchored onto the inner ledge of the bumper (top and bottom).

If you use a flashlight and peer through the mesh along the inner edge of the bumper, just behind the mesh, you should see them. You can use a thin screw driver of something slender and wooden or plastic to lift up on the edge of the clip, through the mesh, to release each of them.

I think there may be a sensor on the passenger side. Not at all sure if there is.... just be aware.

The Sport Appearance Package bumper (standard on the the V8) is as Fatz says - several clips that the mesh snaps into. On the non-sport version (standard on the V6), it comes out from behind, and it might be possible with the bumper in place, but definitely easier if you remove the bumper.
