CLK350 convertible built 2005
Question Locked Keys in the boot

I have CLK350 convertible, built 2005. I have locked my keys in the boot.
Have managed to get car unlocked but boot button (below window buttons on drivers door)!doesn't unlock boot.
The NRMA guy disconnected the battery and told me to push the boot button but all that has happened is that car windows went down an inch or more each time he tried, so now I have an unlocked car, windows down 6 inches, and keys still in the boot. :-(
Any other suggestions?

I assume you only have one set of keys? You might search the forum because you are not the first to do this. I can't recall the best solution, but it may be removing the rear seat and fishing something in to use the emergency release as if you were locked in the boot yourself. This issue is a bigger advantage to having keyless go than the ability to start the car by just pressing a button. A keyless go car will not let you lock the keys anywhere inside the car. It just won't lock and the boot will not close and a message appears that says "keys detected in vehicle."

Is it difficult to get the seat out?
Where is the emergency release?

I am assuming that you don't have a spare key? Well, this sounds like a good time to get one. Go to the dealer's parts counter with proof of ownership (registration receipt) and proof of ID that you are the owner. The key comes pre-programmed and fully functional, ready to use.

Not too helpful when I'm 3 hours from nearest dealer and they're not open until Monday in Service. Sales could give no advice.
Roadside assistance said join and pay $226.50 and maybe (yes maybe) able to help,

Yidney had the best solution. Call dealer and ask where the location of trunk release is and if they know how to remove back seat. Usually for the back seat you press hard at bottom toward the trunk and lift up.

Being a cabriolet, I am not sure removing the back seat will help much. And I am not sure you can even remove it without access to the trunk. I know in the W203, the rear seat back has latches on its top edge that must be release from inside the trunk to remove it, though you may be able to pull it out from the bottom enough to get something into the trunk to trip the emergency release button.

I looked at mine and there is no way to get into the trunk through the back seat in a cabriolet. I was trying to figure out how I might help you fish a wire around the seal to press the inside emergency release button, but that would be nearly impossible to do "blind".

But then I realized something. If the car is unlocked, you should be able to just open the trunk lid with it's handle. If that doesn't work, then I suspect you have a broken latch. In this case. Why you do squeeze the handle, do you hear an electric servo sound like the latch is attempting to operate? If so, there might be some hope. Just keep doing this and you might get it to work once. Also, try pressing down on the trunk lid as you do this, or bumping the lid (gently, don't damage it!) while squeezing the handle.

If you hear no sounds when squeezing the handle, then the latch is beyond operational, or a fuse is blown, or a wiring harness is damaged,. In that case the only way to open it is via the mechanical key, and I guess that means a trip to the dealer to order one.

The Handle on the trunk can sometimes stick, see if you can push the handle back first then squeeze as normal to open the trunk.

Pull down the rear arm rest and see if there is an opening. Mine had a ski bag opening there that would probably let you access the rear lock mechanism. Good luck.

This is how you pull the rear seats out of a W209 coupe, but I don't think it does any good without getting into the trunk

https://mbworld.org/forums/clk55-amg...gera-haha.html

there are bolts for the seat-backs you can only get at through the trunk.

The only other thing I can think of, like Rudeney said is trying to poke the green emergency release "in the blind" with a coat hanger between the split in the seats.

I actually doubt the emergency button will do any good - if the outside handle does not work, and the inside driver's door button does not work, I suspect the electric latch has failed, and the emergency release simply activates the electric latch.

I read on another forum about drilling a small hole behind the license plate.
