Question on facelift tail lights

Hello, I have a question on the 2006+ tails. I know everyone gets the LED version as an upgrade, but I might buy the actual OEM facelift. Will these work without buying anything extra or do I have to buy extra resistors or other parts? If I have to buy the same parts as the LEDs I might just buy the LEDs but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nope they are plug and play. I actually have an extra set if you're interested. I believe you just have to bend a piece of metal that's in the way. I have the info somewhere in my old posts. Also I didn't have to buy anything extra for my LED tails, they came with everything.

So the OEM ones are plug and play too? I'd like to see if your OEM tails are slightly smoked in the turn signal area or not (I think they're called AvantGarde IIRC). Do you have pics?

I looked on a site that has the LEDs and they say that I need to get two part numbers to make them work: A2098200877 and A2098200777 which are two sockets I believe. I wouldn't need that for the OEM facelift tails?

lol, I don't remember buying anything for either the facelift tails or the LED tails. But honestly it was so long ago that maybe something changed. My bad. Let me see if I could dig up a pic. They are the tails I had right before the LED.

You know what, I think I did have to buy those. I believe it's the back part of the tails. I guess I forgot because I went through 3 pairs of facelift tails so I only bought it one time.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
I believe that when putting facelift tail lights on a pre-facelift car, you will need to cut or bend a small flange of sheet metal inside the fender. The facelift lights have a deeper bulb socket area for the side marker.

I have them put away just in case the led ever give me problems. I will dig them up and double check.

Yeah I know you have to bend the metal, I just don't know if the OEM facelift tails are different than the LEDs in terms of plug and play (other than those two parts).

I was thinking maybe the aftermarket LEDs have plug and play already built in whereas the OEMs do not. If they do not, I will just get the LEDs. But, I do like the OEM facelift with the AvantGarde factory tint on turn signal area.

Anyone upgrade to OEM facelift tails?

I installed the lights yesterday. The bending process was kind of tricky but simple. I just felt bad bending metal lol. Nonetheless, nothing is wrong. Just bend the metal slightly and test fit after each small bend.

The lights came out BEAUTIFUL. I didn't think they'd look that nice (they're just lights haha) but the darker color of the facelift lights and the AvantGarde turn signal (slightly smoked) is beautiful. A must for any pre-facelift. Check out the pictures of the side-by-side and the new lights. Also thanks to gunzofnavarrone for the lights!
