W207 steering wheel retrofit to W209 and two tone interior
After three months I manage to retrofit the W207 steering whel to my CLK. It is not easy and you have to make many mods, but the result is fantastic. You need:
1. W207 steering wheel with the airbag.
2. You need a blown airbag from late CLC W203 or SLK R171 and the steering wheel angle sensor in order to take multi functions buttons and the module that is inside. The late angle sensor from the W209 is not working. You need them both and better to be from the same car.
3. You have to machine down the steering wheel on a lathe in order to be able to get in the steering column. See foto.
4. Must make an adaptor plate for the steering angle sensor to work properly and to cover the gup between the steering wheel and the plastic section where the turning lights switch are. See foto.
5. You must find an electronic guy to transplane the internals from the CLC multifuction buttons to the W207 multifuction sells. The 8 center buttons on the new steering wheel that will function will be the same like the old one. The rest 4 will do nothing. Very nice write up here. He use the old module and wires. The only different I have made is that I use the CLC internals. http://www.slkworld.com/general-modi...w-then%85.html
6. You have to replace the W207 airbag connectors (yellow and green) with the CLC one.
7. Paint the aluminium adaptor plate black you put the new steering wheel and after you check with star that everything is ok you've done.
It is not an easy retrofit and many times I but it can be done.
Also before some time I have put the W207 front seats and now I also finish the interior making it two tone alpaca gray and black and replacing the upper section of the dashboard with a black one. You can check the fotos. More fotos and video later. Next to come is take the compressor out and replace it with a garrett GTX2560R.

Cary C and Yidney thanks. It cost me 500€ for the interior, 400€ for the W207 steering wheel, 50€ for the adaptor, 100€ for the blown CLC airbag and 200€ labour. I sold the old seats, the old steering wheel and upper dashboard for 800€, so it cost me about 450€. Ok I spent a lot of time but don't forget that it was the first retrofit. As Yidney says I wanted to give a fresh look to the car, because with the economical situation here in Greece it is very difficult to buy a new car like W209. Next mod is to go turbo...

An other one two tone interior
Yesterday a friend of mine make his interior two tone retrofiting the seats from W207. The seats were also orhtopedic and they work just fine with the air pump from w209. Next he will retrofit the W207 steering wheel.

Wow. Those are very nice the seats. How hard was it to retrofit? Did it require any modification? When you put the seat forward to access rear seats, does the front seat now move automatically like on the C207 E coupe?
