Still in the process of fixing up some cosmetic issues with my W209

The passenger seat adjustments do not work. All wires are intact below, the control box on the door side is not connected to the seat rail nor has the cover correctly on it. I assume start here.

However, I am not 100% certain, and instead of just replacing parts, is there a common issue to look for? (I searched the forums and did not find any clear answers).

Dirver's is fine, passenger, not a single adjustment works. Where is the main power source.

Its stuck at about 80-90% all the way back, which cramps my sons car seat a tad.

Thanks in advance.

its preferred not to throw parts at your car with a problem like that. 80% of the time it is the module under the car but with STAR you can 100% sure. do you guys hear a relay sound when any of the buttons on the passenger side door are pressed?

I do not hear anything.

Would this cause the SRS light to come on? This just happened this morning. Along with the "display malfunctioning" warning.

if theres no relay sound then theres probably no easy fix, unless its just the wires under the seats that are cut or not plugged in correctly, no way to correctly diagnose this without STAR, or a couple spare seat modules.

Also unrelated to the SRS light, unless its cut with the wires under the seat (happened to a guy here on the forum before.) display malfunctioning + SRS light? weird, you really do need to get your car diagnosed with STAR

Display is fine today and the code is gone (code as in the notification).

$50 for the local independent shop to scan it.
I hope to have time today.

Since the airbag light is not on, I am thinking it is the tensioner or weight sensor, hopefully. That seems easier. My seat belt extender has always been funny. Recently it has been very quick, extends, and retracts immediately, no waiting on the seat belt to be clicked.

if the local shop is scanning it with STAR they should be able to tell about about the seat module + the SRS light + the dash malfunction + the seat extender issue (could be unrelated to the SRS). Make sure you find out everything and try and take a picture of the errors or take a printed copy. more often then not its a simple fix and the indy shop will keep the info hidden so he can charge you more (happens here a lot at least)

He did mention that he has a 1 off star reader out of Japan but does nearly 95% of what the dealer uses. Worst news is that he has found the SRS to be the hardest to detect and normally part of the 5%. He did say that if he cant pull codes for what I want then he wont charge anything.

However this guy is the known MB service shop over here and well trusted. Has a junk yard of 200-300 MB behind the shop too.

The only SRS error that will self-clear is a problem with the passenger seat weight sensor. All other SRS errors are persistent and will keep the malfunction light illuminated until it is cleared with a scan tool.
