Will these wheels fit?

Hi everyone,
I searched but couldn't find the answer and am hoping one of you Mercedes scholars can help.
I'm looking for winter tires/wheels. My '06 CLK350 has staggered 18" wheels now. I purchased staggered set of 17" winter tires thinking (1st mistake) that I could pick up a used set of 17" wheels but had no luck.
My question to you all is, Will the 16"wheels and 215/55/16 tires from a
2002 E320 fit my car? This will be my 1st winter and I'm leery of using wide tires.

you may have a clearance issue with the brakes

Thank you gixxerboy. Would that be because of a difference in the offset?
(I'm trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about!)

offset with the shape of the rim, may hit the caliper

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to look at them and install 1 front & 1 back before committing.

you may need different bolts depending on the wheel,
