Brabus Vs. AMG

hey I have a CLK 320 and I am a bit of a pickle and was wondering what would u guys do. I got 19" AMGs on my car and I was going to get the matching AMG bodykit, then someone approached me about selling their brabus front bumper only. If you were in my position would you get the Brabus front and AMG back, or AMG all around. I like the brabus front but I dont know if it will match with the rest of the car. What would you do?

I would definately go for Brabus Kit it is much suttle looking
not too aggressive and not to soft too I think

anyway I notice you have CL wheels
on your CLK can you post some pics need to see how the 19 CL fits. and did you use any spacer?

I would go with the brabus fron definately, I think it would look jsut fine with the AMG sides and rear (check out AMG-bred's clk) he has this setup on his and it looks perfect

Brabus vs AMG

The stlye for the Brabus front bumper looks MUCH better than the AMG. However, AMG BRED has a CLK55 with proper AMG dual tips. If you plan to ever change your muffler or exhaust and it is not the AMG dual tip, the AMG rear bumper will look stupid. I put on the Brabus exhaust, and the tail pipes are way to big for the rear AMG stock bumper.

Just my 2 Cents.

Arrow Go Brabus

I agree with JAY500.

Layout the parts you wanna get in the near future so you can get a clear idea what to buy NOW - $ saving strategy.

Personally I like Brabus Front (too many AMG ones). Cannot wait to see Brabus front with AMG rims, it shall look nice.

Lowering, 19" w/ 10mm spacer. Did you do the fender rolling already? Will you get the sway bar as well?

If you don't mind me asking how much do you want for the AMG kit? Also, what color?

Go with the AMG kit... To tell you the truth the Brabus kit looks really nice and clean. I can understand why people like the amg rear besides the brabus, but honestly, i like the brabus rear. Its very clean. AMG Bred has this set up, and yes it looks good. If your gonna get the brabus front, you might as well pay for the entire kit. But yes, you will need some side skirts. Sucks how brabus doesnt make any sides for the CLK...

Ive decided that I cannot afford to get the brabus back or exhaust therefore getting the brabus front will look stupid. I think I am going to get the AMG bodykit instead. THanks for yuor input.

To CANAUTO: You think I need to roll my fenders? I have heard from others that have my setup of 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 rear that there is no rubbing, have you had experience with it?

I have that setup too and my rears are 10's with a 1.5 drop and still no rub. I forgot what offset i have, but if i find out, ill let you know. I can drop my rear more if i wanted too. but yeah it is a perfect fit.

Cool Great

Sorry to respond late (got flu and stayed at home, still home).

It's glad to hear that no fender rolling is needed. When I got Lorinser wheels, I was told to do the fender rolling but it turned out to be good w/o it when I put them on.

I think as long as you don't drive too aggressively, everything should be fine.

I just wonder that Brabus Front is not that expensive $1K, and the used one should not cost over 50%. Hm... if you can afford 19" AMG, the full aero kit should not be too expensive to you.

Also, have you ever thought about getting Lips instead of full bumper replacement? In this case you do not need to change the side skirts - you can save quite a bit and will not have any matching issues other people mentioned.

I will work tomorrow, should you have not yet decided which one to go for, you can always contact me at dachen@canautoclub.com.

Thanks.

Wink I guess I'm in the minority...

As I prefer the AMG front valence/air-dam versus the Brabus (Sorry AMG-Bred!!). The Brabus is great looking, and definitely more unique, but I just really like the AMG air-dam. I suspect that once it's on and you have some time to really check it out, you'll really like it. A small detail that I really like is how the underside of the front air-dam is raised slightly in the center, which is good for aerodynamics. Looks good too!

Best regards,
Matt
