Air intake hose missing...

Just bought a 04 CLK 500 and during the test drive I noticed the drivers air intake hose was missing. I have another one on the way but wondered how much of a difference I should expect in the drive and gas mileage once I put the new hose on.... I cant imagine its putting out its potential if its sucking in hot air from the engine on one half. THANKS!!

If you notice any difference whatsoever I'd be stunned. Heck, there was some guy here a few months ago who drove his car for two years with the entire air box and filters missing.

WOW! Just seems if one side is sucking hot air in from the engine bay it wouldn't be doing it any favors.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
The intake tube on my CLK550 rotted away. I replaced them, and noticed nothing more than a slightly better exhaust note.
