Hi all. My windshield defroster is not blowing hot air on the drivers side, the passenger side is working fine. I tried doing the reset by pressing the defrost and recirculate? buttons...the lights on the buttons blink and the cycle runs, all the vents cycle ok, even when cold air blows out the vents where the defrost air comes from, but when the air from the defrost vents turns warm the drivers side stops working while the passenger side works fine. Any tips or tricks to get this working again? Or is this definitely an issue a mechanic is going to have to fix? If anyone has had the same problem would you mind sharing what you were charged to have it fixed? So far the dealership has worked on this car since I purchased it new but now that it is out of warranty and the mechanics at the dealership work on commission I do not trust them anymore, and my new "service advisor" seems to know less about cars than I do. Thanks for any help.

im in your area, buy your description its probably one of the actuators. I dont know the price of the part but the labor at my shop would be about $600 on it. If that is the problem

Thanks for the info. Do you know how this issue would be diagnosed? Also, what part of town is your shop located in?

Im off of 75 in Plano.
Its either the actuator, there is one for each side or its not getting a signal. I doubt its the second
