Two issues, outside of the struts were causing problems with my partition properly contacting and holding the switch.

The wiring was getting in the way. - Try shoving the wiring down that tunnel for a while until it trains itself to stay out of the way or do what Yidney did (see post #56 w/in "Broken trunk partition CLK 320")

Confirm that the partition hinge pins are in place. - My drivers/switch side was missing so the partition was out of alignment.
