Adding factory Sirius & its not being detected - what is this extra wire?
I am trying to add the factory Sirius module to my 2005 CLK500. After installing it, STAR/DAS doesnt see the module even after re-scanning the bus. There is this 3rd optical cable in the same bundle as the Sirius plug, and it is also labeled SDAR. Does it have to be plugged in somehow, or am I missing something else?

Did you follow all the instructions? I assume that since you have SDS, you referred to the WIS docs for installation?

Yes I did follow the instructions (my car was pre-wired for Sirius making the install much easier), but as the picture shows I have an extra fiber optic connection also labeled SDAR that Im not sure what to do with. Im not seeing that 3rd connector anywhere in the instructions.

Was that connector you plugged into the SDAR unit already in the car, or did you have to "build" the harness per the WIS docs? The fiber is a closed loop, so somewhere along the way, you'd have to disconnect a coupling to "tap" into it. If you did not do that, then the SDAR is not "in the loop".
