Comand DVD does not load @#$%^
I'm still new at this MBWorld thing so bear with me. I just purchased a 2009 CLK w/ nav and would like to have it work. Ordered and received a DVD via eBay and thought it would be fairly straightforward to load. Wrong.
The DVD is a MB disc for MY08-11 C-Class N. America (version 2012.1).
When inserted in the DVD slot the display responds with "initializing" first and then "can not read DVD".
There's a lot of posts out there on navi for different models and it's not clear what I need to do. Would like to avoid the dealer if possible.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

What you bought is not 08-11, but the 2012 map. It should work. If it's genuine MB disc, it should say CLK on it, not just C. Also fits M class. Assuming it says CLK on it, it should work. So either its a bad disc, or your player is bad.

Sorry, read your post too quickly. You bought the wrong disc. You bought a disc for a later model C class that does not fit the CLK at all. A CLK is not a C class, so not sure why you bought that. You can buy discs for a CLK up through this year - the last year they will make them. I would not buy anything older than 2013 or so. They get out of date quickly.
