Aux input on 2003 W209 (NOT)

There is a way to take the radio apart and physically wire into the tape deck to install an AUX input. Search YouTube for this. It should give you better sound, but it will disable the tape deck audio (though I am guessing that's not a concern). You'd need to install a blank (spool-less) cassette int he deck to activate it. Of course there is also the risk of damaging the radio during this procedure.
Personally, I'd just install an aftermarket radio. There are many choices in double-DIN units that can be installed with a simple dash adapter kit. Of course it won't look exactl "factory", but on the pre-facelift model, it's not too bad.

My 05 CLK320 did not come with AUX pre-installed in the glove box. I bought this item on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/262471189724
It fit under the rocker panel (Passenger side) behind the kick panel. I ran the wire into my glove box now I can use my phone, iPod or mp3 to play music through my stereo system. It is not blue tooth but at least I have many more choices then just the radio or CD Changer.

Just replace the POS comand with something more modern. Stop dealing with stereo tech from 10 years ago.

10 year old tech? Try 20! I still shudder to think that in 2004, MBZ was selling "cassette tape decks" and a glove box or trunk mounted cartridge-style CD changer was an option!

I shudder when I see people select a navigation destination letter by letter with some sort of dial or button. . Get rid of this old tech people. You can get an android unit for like 350$.
