Guess what. Just talked to my local MB dealer, he asked if the gas pedal of my car (2004 CLK-320 Coupe) is a slip-on or not. He said that it may be a whole unit which will cost $200 CAN.

Just go to the parts counter and request the SLK pedal part numbers; they probably have them in stock (at least mine did) and you can just look at them for yourself. Your dealer is likely talking about the SL accelerator pedal, which does indeed cost alot more and is a larger assembly. The SLK pedals cost me ~$50 in total.

Just bite the bullet and order the following parts, you can't go wrong, that's what I did and I made the spare parts guy look like a real dick for not knowing his products when I went to pick it up the following day

A 170 300 00 04 : gas pedal
A 170 290 01 82 : brake pedal
A 230 430 00 84 : parking brake pedal

If you prefer to have the SL's brake pad, just change the 170 to 230, its the same price but like what Frisco said about the SL gas pedal, that's right!

Cheers,
Ho

Thanks. The guy did mention about the SL pedals. I replied that my car is 2004 CLK-320 Coupe, he told me they're the same !!!

Kaiju: You're right. I should just order by the part numbers.

Well, I sent an email to Technical Support of Mercedes Benz Canada and asked them to clarify this. This is the answer I got:

"The accelerator pedal is part of the complete assembly as the dealer has told you.
Unfortunately there is no other possibility than to replace the complete assembly."

This is no good.

mis3 that sounds like a load of bs they're feeding you. If you want to see what the acelerator pedal assembly looks like go here and you can see. I have posted some pics of my pedal with the old rubber cover that I removed. The cover is not really a slip on per se but it is easier to slip off the old one and then slip on the new one with the metal finish than having to remove the whole pedal assembly completely. I picked up all three pedals for $35 and some change here in the states.

By the way here is a pic of my pedals.

I'm confused - do you not believe what we've told you or did we not answer your question? A bunch of us already purchased and installed the pedals and given you the part numbers that you need to order, but it seems like there's still some confusion. What are we missing?

You see, when I called my local MB dealership, the parts department told me that they only had the SL pedals. He did not know if these SL pedals would fit on my CLK-320.

I was not sure if there were specific sets for different MB models. That's why I sent an email to MB Canada. I was hoping that the offical reply from MB would set him straight.

What I will do now is to simply order with the part numbers provided by Kaiju.

That's right Mis3, there is no point trying to varify the part you are ordering because the merc part's guys have no idea, they are simply reading what's coming out of their computer system and I can tell you that it will not describe what you want to hear which is why I just went ahead and ordered the parts that was supplied on this very forum.

BTW, these are not the SL (230) pedals, only the parking brake are of the SL, the gas & brake are of SLK (170). Like I said before, you can also get the SL brake pedals but it may look funny with the SLK gas pedal which is why most of us are simply using the SLK for both gas & brake and the SL for just the park brake simply because you can't really tell.

I've seen CLK55 cabrio in the showroom and that came with SLK pedals as standard one would think it will have the nicer SL's for that kind of price tag

.....Anyway I hope that will bring some more confidence out of you and dude, I know how you feel, I was quite stressed & worried when I was picking up my pedals knowing the useless merc couldn't tell me what I was ordering but obviously I was stressing out for nothing

Cheers,
Ho

The dealers are crap, thats why we all work as a team to get these part numbers and pic's posted, as far as mercedes are concerned if hasn't got a w203 or 209 part number it wont fit, the ac pedal is a electronic unit the pedal cover slip's off and slide the new one on, when the part is supplied it comes on another plastic mount with 2 holes which will not fit so slide off the new cover from he parts u buy and slip it on the existing pedal inside your car its a 10min job, please be assured they do fit I started this thread ages ago, many people have since put these on w203 209 and the new e class.

Hope this helps

Neil
