SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME :wall: (PLEASE)

I HAVE A 2004 CLK500 W209

AFTER GETTING THE CODE FOR THE CPS

I REPLACED THE CRANK SHAFT POSSITION SENSOR
AND IT WAS A ***** TO REPLACE

AFTER THAT I CLEARED THE CODE . after i took my car for a drive everything was fine untill i parked it for 10 minutes and it turned of by its self . then i try to start it it just cranks ! so i waited and it finalley started . then i get the same code again after i just replaced it!

what can be the problem? also when i tuch my hood its very very hot. the engine warms up fast is that normal ?

but if any one ever had this problem please help! id verry much appreciate it. another symptom i have is car sometimes accelerates by its self on park or rpm might go up n down wiggling .

Did you use an OEM sensor or aftermarket. I had an aftermarket one last about that long too. I hate to tell you to just throw money at it but I have had bad luck with aftermarket sensors.

Mine aftermarket literally died the next day. I never thought it was true when I read comments about aftermarket sensors but that was my experience. As for all the other stuff, there are just too many things that could be wrong for me to make a call. you need more diagnosing.

If you get no codes you have to think old school. Fuel , spark, air. You are very vague about the temp issue. What makes you think it is not normal operating temp? Are you headers glowing? Do you have a laser temp sensor to test different areas? If you don't know how to diagnose then you need a professional to do it for you. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

Just curious, what code are you getting? What are you using to read the codes?

Here's the other thread on this car. It's FLOOD DAMAGED. Electrical issues? Not really a big surprise given the flood damage.

How many boxes full of computers and electrical connectors are there in these? A couple dozen? You could spend the rest of your life chasing gremlins in a flood damaged car and still not get it right.

im stuck with the car now i might have messed up for buying it . but it did not show any sign of flood damage other than the front sam module but thats because it had no cover for the fuse box

When the engine suction fan runs continuously on high speed, it means it is not communicating with the ECU. This can be a wiring issue, a bad ECU, or a bad fan control unit (attached to the fan itself).

what is the best way to figure out witch one it is? should i first start with the ecu ?
and also do you know anything about p0120 throttle/pedal position switch a circuit and p0600 serial communication link ? i got these two errors after replacing the crank shaft position sensor

I'll be honest with you, I think that you either need to sell this car and cut your losses, or, take it to a skilled mechanics who can diagnose and fix all of this for you. There are just to many things going on here to DIY all of this with help from an online forum.

Now i just need to figure out these codes and then i will take it to mechanic

You are using a generic OBDII scan tool. Those codes translate to multiple MBZ-specific DTCs. Given the condition of your car, these problems are not going to be properly diagnosed and resolved with a generic scanner. You're going to need SDS. That's why I say it's time for professional help.

so those scanners actually send you right to the problem ? even if it can be a bunch of thing their scanners can point to the exact exact problem or that specif code ?

SDS will give you the exact problem. A generic scanner will just tell you code xxxx while SDS will tell you component x is not communicating with component y....so you'll know exactly. Where are you located? There are plenty of people who have SDS so if you find one locally who is willing to help you might get a better idea of what's going on.

even with SDS with this being electrical and a flood, there will still probably some actual diagnostic needed
