CLK 240 Coupe Avantgarde 2003
CLK 240 2003 (Need Help)
Hi I'm new to this forum, please allow me to ask a question about my Mercedes Benz.
So I just bought a secondhand Mercedes-Benz CLK240 Avantgarde, 2003 model.
The dealer in which I purchased my car has modified the car so it looks like CLK AMG version with all the body kit options and all.
Even some parts of the interior has AMG logo in it including the gear shifter.
Mine has automatic transmission, and the shifter has a directional + & - sign on D (kinda manumatic / tiptronic) but the problem is I cannot shift gears manually because it stuck.
My question is, is my car (CLK240 year 2003), in standard configuration comes with a tiptronic / manumatic transmission or just normal automatic? (because if it is, the previous owner might just change the cosmetics of my car and not internally).
I have searched the web but alas, my lack of experience with CLK Class is diminishing my capability to find the conclusion.
Anyone? Thanks!

Yes, all W209 CLKs cme with the TouchShift feature, which allows you to tip the shifter left and right from the "D" position to step through the gears. It is detailed in your owner's manual. The gear display will change on the LCD display on your instrument cluster to indicate the highest gear allowed. if this is not working, then the shifter is malfunctioning.
