Realistic price for a 2004 clk500

Hello everyone I had someone come and give me an offer on my car . What is a realistic price for a 2004 clk 500 convertible with 67k miles , silver on grey with amg package . The previous owner had full service history paperwork which I have and has been garaged . Top looks like it just came out of the factory . No mechanical issues everything works 100%.

A realistic price is whatever people are willing to pay. Condition will play a huge part. Don't let people lowball you if the car is in excellent condition. Take a close look at the cars that are for sale and their condition and then price yours accordingly. Ask for a premium if the car is clean.

There are not many convertibles out there with these miles . He offered me 13k . Do you think 15 or 16 k is still a good price ?

Take a look at the cars that are for sale online. Take a close look at their condition. Most list cars as "excellent" and you look closer, you got missing buttons, leaking valve covers, messed up dimming mirrors etc...and that's without mentioning crap you can't even see online like suspension arm bushings and so on. All these things cost money to fix....so he can either spend time and money to fix or pay a premium and get a car that's in good condition (assuming it is).

11-13 is reasonable. 15-16 is not. I see it from the point of my purchase and my experience.

I paid $9200 for my 2005 CLK500 convertible with 60,200 miles on it a few weeks ago. It is in near perfect condition, only needing tires. This was near Philly. Some here said I over paid.

Looks nice too:

I think the OP has potential to get at least $12K. It just depends on if the right buyer is available when he wants to sell. A $13K offer seems pretty good to me.

Nice car that was a grat deal. I looked at eBay , crags list in my area . There all over 100 mile cars. I stopped by a dealer who had the same car but it was an 05 and the car was originally from ny with 90k miles he was asking 14k .

why not just throw a counter offer for 14.5 and see where it goes..? I would take 13k for an 04 clk500..The only people who will pay extra (for the lower mileage) are people who enjoy the look of the car or are enthusiasts themselves

Yeah that looks super clean. Good deal.

When I bought my 2004 55 it had 18k on it and the plastic wrap on the AMG door sills. Pretty much brand new condition in 2012...or whenever I got it. I paid a hefty premium over the rest of the cars available which were 2005+ but it was totally worth it.

If you have driven either you would know. Both are fairly harsh riding compared to your CLK. I am partial to the M3, but I do not care for larger vehicles.

No brainer. Having/still owning BMW, Audi, Mercedes....another Mercedes. Take a look at Infiniti as well. Nicely built cars.

the infinti g37 convertible is expensive almost the same price as the m3 or clk63 convertible . The one thing i hate about the clk is that there are not that many aftermarket add ons and if there are its 3 times the price. I love the ride of my clk I have even owned bmw 745 and clk rides much better . This is my weekend car so not to worried about the ride . plus the m3 has adjustment for suspension . My only issue is my wife cant drive stick and i been hearing alot of bad thing about the SMG Transmission . I think i ruled out the M6 after hearing horror stories online .

I'd rule out a CLK63, too. Do a search for "mercedes M156 head bolt failure" or "mercedes m156 lifter failure". Seems like the M156 AMG 6.2l engine had problems until mid-MY2010.

I have owned

2001 330ci
2004 525i
2006 e90 330i

1999 CLK 320
2008 C300
2006 CLS500
2005 CLK55 AMG

overall, handling in the BMW is superior in my experience. I enjoy just cruising in the mercedes...m6 is a nice car but pricey, if you go e90 m3 you will get a great car

the m5/m6 is big no no unless you have a huge bank account then you would be stupid not to go for it. Amazing just amazing but on the edge of impossible to maintain correctly engine + transmission. Not to mention unbelievably expensive parts and they love garages. oh and engine.. it doesn't just use fuel.. it'll probably be the main cause of fuel shortage in the world in the coming future. still would drool over it 11/10

Yea i already ruled out the m6 after checking out a few on ebay that says that they have a new engine put in . there where 5 for sale from that year and 3 had new engines . I think the m3 is a safer bet . you would think for the price of these cars the Germans can make a performance engine that can last . I found an 07 m6 with 32K miles and the price was good but like you guys said i will basiclly have to open my wallet and bend over .
