It read many pros and cons of Artico leather in this forum. I may pick Saddle Brown interior for my next car and it comes with both Artico and real real leather. According to the pictures, the Artico looks even better; perforated for Artico and not for real leather.

I like to know the opinions of w209 owners. I have real black leather (perforated) in my w209 and it serves me well over the past 12 years. Since I take care of my car and keep it for many years, I am wondering if Artico can retain its good look over years; especially in lighter color (saddle brown).

If you are looking at used cars, real leather may be hard to find. Most CLKs will have real leather - most C Class cars will not, but, I Have seen a very few newer C Class cars with leather - E Class will be a mixed bag.

I have both and much prefer real leather - just feels different. If I were buying new with plans to keep, I would order leather.

Good luck on your search.

I was just browsing on a Sunday morning. I have owned my w209 for 12 years and while my car is running great, I will need a new one in 1-2 years. The new C Coupe is one option.

I personally do not mind Artico, I am wondering its durability, especially in light brown colour (saddle brown). I like the look of peforated leather (like my w209) and according to the pictures in MB Canada site, Artico is perforated but leather is not.

I read that Artico, as expected of vinyl, should wear substantially better over time. I saw many leather seats in long term cars that showed the same scraping and creasing on the side seat bolsters.
