Gullible? lol. you've figure it all out Einstein. How about "Those who have no Fs to give and have the cash, and aren't worried about 6 bills for a Mercedes."

That's completely different.....you cant buy a Merc for any less than Mercedes sell them for as they are the sole supplier. You can however buy equal quality (or virtually) parts for a fraction of the money....quite often exactly the same part made in the same factory....just not in a Mercedes box!

@CLK200K-UK
The same part made in the same factory? The OP asked about a “body part”. Who is the original equipment manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz body parts?

That's beyond ridiculous. The simple answer to that is just no.

If you're buying a poor copy for 80$ be happy with it and move on. No, it's nowhere close to the original. No need to delude yourself.

Which part is beyond ridiculous ????? The parts price bit? Parts equal to the original (often exactly the same) can be had elsewhere....fact. Im 15 years ex motor trade so not making this stuff up.

That's fair enough....I went a bit off topic.....I was mainly referring to non body parts....although of course after market metal body sections are easy to find. But either way there are replica plastic parts that are better than the poor effort above for a fraction of the factory price.

But I give up....its up to you where you buy you parts and how you spend your cash. If folks want to buy a Bosch injector from Mercedes at three times the price of the same thing from a Bosch specialist that's up to them. My point was that you can by parts of equal (or better when it comes to suspension) than factory for lots less cash. If you have the cash to not care that's great......but its not like that for many of us.

I think that you should always buy oem when it comes to something mechanical or a significant part that you don't want failing twice . I just met up with a friend with an oem spoiler . Honestly unless your looking for these little differences you wont tell the difference . There are of expensive issues that come up with these cars keep your money for a rainy day. At the end of the day its a plastic spoiler and between 600 or 900 for a dealer and 80 for aftermarket i think its dumb to go drop that much money on a spoiler . As long as you use 3m tape and line it up good it looks just as good . Here is a pic of mine it lines up exact.

irokdastar, it doesn't appear from the pic that it is aligned exactly. There is paert of the trunk crease showing on both sides and more on the drivers side, This could be due to the picture angle and lighting.

It could also be due to the install itself and not the spoiler.

Nevertheless, I can do a lot of cosmetic part trimming and adjusting with my dremel for 600-900 bucks minus 80......

I've never seen aftermarket body parts that fit just as well as OEM parts. Some cost thousands and still fit worse than OEM. I've had/have plenty of body kits installed and some fit not too badly but saying that they're even close to OEM would be

Regardless, you're comparing buying the same Bosch injector from different stores to buying different parts from different stores. It doesn't make any sense. The Bosch injector will obviously be the same and you should go for the lowest price.
