little bitty wrap

rock chips on lower part of front bumper shop wants about 1300 to repaint thinking that a shiney black wrap will both cover and protect. ebay material about 25 bucks. Not DIY for me so maybe another 125 to install. Thoughts plus any referral in sacramento area. Thanks

Are you going to wrap the whole car or just the bumper?

just the little area lower front bumper where picks up rock chips. May be too small of a job for a shop but not DIY for me.

Wow, $1300 to repaint a bumper? My favorite local shop body shop wanted about $700. I asked how much to paint it if I removed it and brought it to them so all they had to do was sand, prime, and paint: $400.

Wrap it. It is easy and cheap. I plan to do the same for mine!

send a pic of the area you want wrapped? shouldn't be more than 100-150 if its just the bottom piece of the bumper...painting a front bumper depending on area should be between 4-850 or so tops

check another body shop on getting it painted. That price is ridiculous.
Only thing with wrapping just 1 part is how will it look against the other panels

exactly what JimVonBaden shows probably just up to the top of the lower opening that way it would be very hard to see against the other panels even if it is just a little off. Thanks

Honestly, if it's just under the bumper like that, I'd just buy some touch--up paint (you can buy it in an aerosol spray can) and paint it myself. I definitely would not spend more than $100 to fix it as it's probably going to happen again.

A wrap will cost $20, and have enough for 2/3, plus no chance of overspray. Mine looks like *** from 20 feet, worth it to me.
