CLK 55amg kompressor conversion
Hi guys,
I have a W209 amg sport pack cab and I have recently purchased a 55 supercharged engine from a 2005 CLS to do my conversion. I got engine, gearbox, engine loom and ecu. The transmission has no ecu or loom so I was wondering if I could use a C63 tranny? Or if my 7 speed box that is currently in my car would bolt up and if it did would it handle the power?
Cheers Bob.

You will not be able to make this work with your existing transmission without a lot of "unsupported" electronics work. The 722.9 TCU is coded to the VIN and ECU. It's always possible to flash EEPROMs, but that's tedious work with lots of risk of damaging parts.

I am not sure how the 55K ECU would like a 722.9. Also only the later ones were rated high enough to take the torque of the supercharged engine. Only the 55 N/A in the SLK55 was matched with the 7 speed at that time. With that torque you will not miss the extra 2 gears.

the 722.9 can handle the power. The tcu is located in the transmission not external like on the 722.6 5 speed.
The 722.9 tcu can not be reprogrammed with a new vin. Only a new one can. So you would have to buy a valve body assembly from mercedes and have them install and program it, They will not sell it over the counter.
Also i dont know if it could be coded to a car it was never available in.
So stick with the 5 speed.
